PEO introduces the new generation hybrid silicon photodectectors (Amplified Single Element Detector – ASD) of Centronic. The ASD combines a high performance single element photodiode with a high input impedance op-amp for signal detection with high gain and low noise.
When light hits the detector this results in directly measurable voltage.

Centronic charged particle detectors are silicon diodes fabricated with a specially minimized dead layer to ensure maximum charge is deposited in the depletion region of the device.
For electron detection in microscopy applications a quadrant geometry is offered with a 140μm diameter hole trough which the primary electron beam can pass.

X-ray detectors utilize silicon photodiode technology and with the addition of a scintillation crystal or membrane of scintillation material. This combination enables to shit the higher energy x-ray into the visible spectrum, which is directly detectable by a photodiode.
There are a variety of scintillator materials available such as Caesium Iodide (CsI), Cadmium Tungstate (CdWO4) crystals and Gadolinium Oxide membranes.
